I've been a little sentimental lately. Ok, probably more than a little. Heck, watching Steel Magnolia's the other day was gut-wrenching. The funeral scene is much harder to watch now than it has ever been before. I now have a new appreciation for M'Lynn and I haven't even birthed these babies yet! You better have Kleenex handy if you plan to watch this clip.
Back to my point. When my Aunt Charlene called to congratulate me on the good news, she told me that Rose and Juanita are probably up in heaven having a party. I haven't been able to repeat out loud what she said yet because it brings tears to my eyes every time I think about it.
Granny and Grandmother, oh how I miss you! In your honor, I'm having tabouli for lunch and will finish it off with a piece of Juicy Fruit gum (Granny always had Juicy Fruit gum).
OK. Pass the kleenex. I miss my mother on a daily basis. It's been five years since she died and I still get a lump in my throat when I think of her. Charlene is right. They are surely in heaven celebrating these little babies. What a legacy these two women are--Rose and Juanita--wonderful memories of each. :-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Kendra and Trent on the babies. I am so excited for you. It sounds like if it is girls there is no need to stress over names. I think little Rose and little Juanita sound great.....I can hear Granny and Rose giggling now.
